History of Fitzrovia News

Front page of newspaper.
Tower was produced from 1973 until the early 1980s when it was re-named Fitzrovia News. We have an archive of every issue.

A community newspaper called The Tower was started in 1973 by a small group of activists as a free community newspaper but ceased publication at the end of 1979. In 1980 the Fitzrovia News was born, supported by the Fitzrovia Neighbourhood Association, and has been published more or less four times a year ever since. In 2009 a selection of news stories are published online in this WordPress.com news blog. Since June 2010 Fitzrovia News has been included in Google News and from October 2014 in Bing News. Since November 2015 some articles also appear on BBC London Live. There is an article on Fitzrovia News at Wikipedia.

We have an archive of all The Tower and Fitzrovia News.
